Applicant must not already hold equivalent license for the requested lines of authority (LOAs) in the state.
All reinstatements of inactive licenses will be processed through the Resident License (RL) Application.
Applicants for the variable LOA must supply FINRA CRD number on application.
An applicant applying for a surplus lines license must have an active North Dakotan insurance producer license with property and/or casualty lines on the PDB.
In order to renew, license must be active. Any other status will go back through the Resident License (RL) Application. If applicant holds two (2) licenses (one (1) active and eligible for renewal, the other inactive) application should allow applicant to renew the active license and only reject the inactive license from going through Resident License Renewal (RLR) application. If applicant is applying the day after expiration date they must use the RL Application.
Public Adjuster applicants must supply at least one DRLP that is actively licensed as a Public Adjuster in North Dakota (DRLP license can be resident or non-resident).
Business Entity Public Adjuster applicants will be allowed to late renew for up to 30 days past license expiration date. Starting day 31, applicant must reapply as a new applicant though the initial licensing application.
At least one (1) Designated Responsible Licensed Producer (DRLP) must be provided on the application and have an active resident or non-resident license in North Dakota.
If applicant responds "yes" to one of the background questions please submit supporting documents electronically via NIPR's Attachments Warehouse. The documents may also be submitted to the state via mail, email, or fax.
