This privacy statement applies to Personal Information collected or processed through our website (https://www.nipr.com/) and the NIPR mobile app (collectively, the "Service"). Please read this policy carefully to understand our policies.
What is Personal Information?
"Personal Information" is information that, either alone or in combination with other information, identifies you. Examples of Personal Information include, among others, name, email address, phone number, and mailing address. When we combine Personal Information with other information, we treat the combined information as Personal Information

Information we collect from you may include: information you provide by filling out forms and applications on our Service; records and copies of your correspondence, including email address; your responses to surveys and the details of transactions you complete through the Service. If you contact customer service via email or phone, we may collect your name, contact information or other Personal Information.
As you interact with our Service, NIPR may use data collection technologies to collect information about your equipment, browsing actions and patterns. NIPR collects and stores the name of the domain and host from which you access the Internet, the Internet protocol (IP) address of the computer you are using, and the date and time you accessed the NIPR site. NIPR also tracks the pages visited within its site. This information is collected for systems administration, for analyzing and improving the usability and value of the material available on the NIPR Web Site and for transmitting information to the states.
NIPR uses tools, "Google Analytics" and "LogRocket," to collect information about use of the Service. Google Analytics collects information such as how often users visit this site, what pages they visit when they do so, and what other sites they used prior to coming to this site. We use the information we get from Google Analytics only to improve this site. NIPR's website relies upon cookies to tailor the information delivered to the user. Cookies are small web-generated files that are stored on your computer hard drive in order to collect information about your activities on a particular web site. Cookies are also used to store application data while the application is in use.
With your permission, which you may revoke at any time by following the instructions provided by your device manufacturer, NIPR's mobile app accesses your device's location to provide you with personalized information and notifications.
Online Tracking
NIPR does not collect Personal Information through online tracking. Similarly, NIPR does not include any features on our website that allows a third party to track you.
How We Use your Information
NIPR uses information collected to process your requests, communicate back to you, answer customer service requests and improve our Service. NIPR may also use this information to create general mailing lists to send customers marketing and other promotional material.
NIPR online applications collect information for purposes of transmitting the information between the user and state insurance departments and/or processing the information for the user. Some NIPR applications require the user to enter into a license agreement with the NIPR. The license agreement governs the collection, use and disclosure of information while in these applications and where the terms of this privacy statement are inconsistent, the license agreement supersedes.
If you are a visitor from the European Economic Area, our legal basis for collecting and using the information described in this privacy statement will depend on the information concerned and the context in which we collect it. We collect Personal Information from you where the processing is in our legitimate interests (provided that these are not overridden by your interests or rights)(such as securing and improving our Service, for example); where we need it to perform a contract with you; or if we otherwise have your consent.
How We Disclose your Information
NIPR may share the information mentioned above with the National Association of Insurance Commissioners ("NAIC").
We employ service providers to perform tasks on our behalf and to assist us in providing the Service, such as payment processing, analytics, marketing, and web hosting. We take appropriate measures to help ensure that our service providers provide the same level of protection for your Personal Information as we do.
If we reorganize or otherwise transfer part or the whole of NIPR or our assets to another organization (e.g., in the course of a transaction like a merger, acquisition, bankruptcy, dissolution, or liquidation), any information collected through the Service, including Personal Information, may be among the items transferred.
We may disclose Personal Information at the request of law enforcement or government agencies or in response to subpoenas, court orders, or other legal process to establish, protect, or exercise our rights or to defend against a legal claim or as otherwise required or allowed by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of any person. NIPR does not provide Personal Information collected to third parties other than in aggregated form, except as stated in this privacy statement or with your consent.
Security of Information
NIPR views security of confidential and private information as a top priority. NIPR provides secure transmission of sensitive and Personal Information from your computers to the NIPR's Web Server. NIPR encrypts many of its services using the industry standard SSL (security locket layer) encryption. NIPR restricts access to sensitive information to employees, contractors and agents who need to know the information and who are subject to confidentially obligations.
Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be absolutely secure and NIPR does not ensure or warrant the security of the transmission of information.
Personal Information Transferred from Outside the United States
If you are using the Service from outside the United States, please be aware that Personal Information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States. Although we take steps to provide adequate safeguards, the data protection laws of the United States might not be as comprehensive as those in your country. By using the Site, you consent to your information being transferred to the United States for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
Retention of Personal Information
We will retain your Personal Information for the period necessary to fulfill the purposes for which your Personal Information has been collected as outlined in this privacy statement unless a longer retention period is required by law.

If you would like to access, amend, erase, export, or object to or restrict the processing of, Personal Information about you, please visit the Web page www.nipr.com/help to find the contact information or send your request for change to the Webmaster at webpost@naic.org. We will respond to such requests in accordance with applicable law.
If you no longer wish to receive newsletters, promotional materials or other electronic communications, you may opt-out by replying to the email and inserting the term "unsubscribe" in the subject line or by sending an email to the Webmaster at webpost@naic.org.
Depending on where you live, you may have a right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority or other regulatory agency if you believe that we have violated any of the rights concerning Personal Information. We encourage you to first reach out to us at webpost@naic.org, so we have an opportunity to address your concerns directly before you do so.
Children's Privacy
We do not knowingly collect or solicit any Personal Information from children. In the event that we learn that we have collected Personal Information from a child without parental consent, we will promptly take steps to delete that information.
Links to Other Websites
NIPR provides links to third-party websites as a convenience to its users. The inclusion of any link does not imply an endorsement or recommendation of the third-party organization, its website, or its products and services. NIPR has not reviewed and is not responsible for the privacy practices or content of such websites.
Notification of Change
NIPR reserves the right to change its privacy statement. The most current privacy statement will be posted on the NIPR website so you are always aware of what information NIPR collects, how it is used, and under what circumstances, if any, it is disclosed
NIPR's privacy statement is not intended to supersede or modify the terms of any license agreement between NIPR and a third party and where inconsistent, the terms of the license agreement control.
