Rules and Regulations
Applicant Can
- Submit contact change request for any license on NIPR's Producer Database (PDB).
- Submit contact change request when there is no resident state license on PDB.
- Submit email changes.
- Submit phone number changes.
- Submit primary name changes for individual licensees.
- Submit primary name changes for business entity licensees.
Applicant Cannot
- Submit contact change request if the New York license is ‘Inactive’ on PDB.
- Submit primary name changes if the New York license is ‘Inactive’ on PDB.
Business Rules
Electronic contact change requests can only be submitted for individuals and firms, not companies [risk bearing entities].
Applicant’s New York license record must be in ‘Active’ status on PDB.
For resident licensees, address counties must be entered for New York addresses.
P.O. Box and Private Mailbox (PMB) are not permitted in the business address field.
P.O. Box and Private Mailbox (PMB) are permitted in the Mailing address field.
For resident New York licensee, applicant is not allowed to change the state code of the Business address.
For resident New York Individual licensee, applicant is not allowed to change the state code of the Residence address.
For resident New York licensee, applicant is allowed to change the state code of the Mailing address.
For resident New York licensee, applicant must maintain a business address in New York.
For non-resident New York Business Entity licensee, applicant’s business address must not be in the state of New York.
For non-resident Business Entity New York licensee, applicant is allowed to submit CCR transaction if there is no resident state license on PDB.
For non-resident New York Business Entity licensee, applicant is allowed to change the state code of the Business and Mailing addresses. The submitted addresses much match the current addresses being reported by the resident/home state (if applicable) or a transaction must have already been submitted.
New York resident individuals, and New York non-resident individuals without an active resident license, will need to provide supporting documentation for name change request. Documentation that will be accepted; Marriage Certificate, Divorce decree, Certified Court document, and/ or driver’s license. Supporting documentation can be uploaded to the NIPR Attachments Warehouse Additional Documents.
New York non-resident individuals – the submitted name change must match what is being reported to PDB by the resident state.
New York resident and non-resident business entities are required to provide approval from the New York Secretary of State for the name change request. Supporting documentation can be uploaded to the NIPR Attachments Warehouse Additional Documents.
