Business Rules

After one (1) year past license expiration date, applicant must reinstate through the Non-Resident License (NRL) Application.

Applicant cannot renew or reinstate license day one (1) through day three (3) after expiration date.

Applicant with a non-resident Utah license in an active or inactive status may not late renew electronically if status reason is canceled, deceased, denied, revoked, failure to maintain or surrendered in lieu of admin.

Applicants with the following status reasons may apply through initial applications at any time electronically: canceled.
- There must be no serious:
- Regulatory Information Retrieval System (RIRS) actions for the applicant since last renewal.
- Special Activities Database (SAD) actions for the applicant since last renewal.
- If so, please contact the state for assistance.

If applicant responds "yes" to one of the background questions please submit supporting documents electronically via NIPR's Attachments Warehouse. The documents may also be submitted to the state via mail, email, or fax.

- Ends: Expiration date.
