- Please ensure that your email information is current and up to date. The Maine Bureau of Insurance will email a copy of the license 24- 48 hours after the applications are approved.

Applicant can qualify for the Multi-Peril Crop line of authority (LOA) under the adjuster license class by either taking the multi-peril crop exam or showing proof of passing the federal exam. If the federal exam was taken, the applicant must submit a paper application to the state.

If any license or Line of Authority is in revoked status on PDB, applicant must wait one (1) year after revocation status date to apply for any new line on license.

Amendments of license are allowed for applicants that are not in revoked status. If any license or Line of Authority is in revoked status, the applicant must wait one (1) year after revocation status date to apply for any new line.

Applicants for the Variable Contracts Line of Authority must supply FINRA CRD number on application.

Variable contracts applicants must actively hold or be applying for producer life license or must actively hold a producer with combined life and health line.

Surplus Lines producers must submit a surplus lines bond form before their license can be issued. The form can be found through the state website.

If applicant responds "yes" to one of the background questions please submit supporting documents electronically via NIPR's Attachments Warehouse. The documents may also be submitted to the state via mail, email, or fax.
