Business Rules

  • At least one (1) Designated Responsible Licensed insurance producer must be provided on application and have an active resident or non-resident license in the District of Columbia.

  • All listed designated responsible Insurance Producers must cumulatively cover the lines of authority on the business application.

  • Designated responsible Insurance Producers with Title Attorney may serve as the designated responsible Insurance Producer for a Title Producer application.

Most requests are submitted via NIPR but to become a resident of the District they also have to be scheduled for fingerprint/background appointment. We also accept changes via fax to 202-354-1084.
