NIPR ANNOUNCES TWO NEW BOARD MEMBERS

KANSAS CITY, Mo -The National Insurance Producer Registry (NIPR) welcomes two new members to its Board of Directors effective immediately. Joining the Board are Joseph Torti III, representing The American Property and Casualty Insurance Association (APCIA), and Kate Jensen, representing The Council of Insurance Agents & Brokers (CIAB).

Joseph Torti III joined Fairfax in January 2016 as Vice President of Regulatory Affairs. He is responsible for coordinating insurance regulatory and compliance matters for Fairfax across the United States. An active member of the APCIA Legislative and Government Affairs Committee, he also co-chairs the Regulatory Reform Committee. Prior to joining Fairfax, Torti served the Rhode Island Department of Business Regulation for more than 29 years, 13 of those years as Superintendent of Banking and Insurance.

Kate Jensen is a member of the Government Affairs & Public Policy practice at Steptoe & Johnson. She focuses on legislative and regulatory counseling in the financial and insurance services, commercial real estate and energy efficiency sectors. Jensen is particularly focused on issues related to various lines of insurance and advises clients on all aspects of policy and compliance in that space. She also serves as the NAIC/State Legislative & Regulatory Chief Council for CIAB.
