Rules and Regulations
Applicant Can
- Submit initial license for individuals electronically.
- Submit major lines of authority.
- Submit limited lines of authority.
- Submit Surplus Lines for individuals.
- Add lines of authority (amend) to an existing active license.
- Reinstate/reapply through NIPR's Non-Resident License Application.
- Print Licenses Electronically.
Applicant Cannot
- Submit partial renewals.
Business Rules
Applicant must be at least eighteen (18) years old.
Applicant's name, birth date, license number, state of residence, Tax ID, and National Producer Number (NPN) must match current Producer Database (PDB) record for resident state.
Applicant must provide a valid country code and business email.
Applicant may not apply for a license in their own resident state.
Applicant must not have a residence address in the state of New Hampshire.
Applicants with a status reason of 'Revoked' or 'Suspended' will not be allowed to apply electronically. Please contact the New Hampshire Insurance Department.
Variable Life and Variable Annuity applicants must supply FINRA CRD number.
Applicant holding 'Property & Casualty' LOA is not allowed to apply for Property, Casualty, or Personal Lines.
Life Settlement Producer applicants must hold an active Insurance Producer license with the Life LOA in New Hampshire.
Applicants amending a license must not be in a 90 day renewal or late renewal period.
Additional Documentation Requirements:
- Any required documentation must be submitted within thirty (30) days of the application date or the application will be declined and fees forfeited.
- Documents should be submitted electronically through NIPR’s Attachments Warehouse. Documents may also be submitted to the state via email or mail.
- All correspondence must include the applicant’s name, SSN/FEIN, NIPR Transaction Number, and National Producer Number (NPN), if available.
- Background Questions:
- If the applicant answers “Yes” to any background question, the following documentation is required:
- A written statement explaining the circumstances
- A copy of the official document demonstrating the resolution of the charges or final judgment
Non-Citizen Requirements
Applicants who are not U.S. citizens must meet the following requirements:
- Must hold a valid U.S. resident license
- Must have a U.S. mailing address
- Must provide a valid U.S. residential address
