Rules and Regulations

Applicant Can

  • Submit adjuster for individuals electronically.
  • Print licenses electronically.

Applicant Cannot

  • Add lines of authority (amend) to an existing active license.
  • Reinstate through NIPR's Non-Resident License (NRAL) Application.

Business Rules

  • Licensing Specific Requirements:  

    • Applicants may not enter DBA name.  
    • Applicants must apply for both Property and Casualty for        
      • Independent Adjuster  
      • Public Adjuster  
    • Applicants that are required to submit supplemental documentation will need to visit WAOIC website for required forms and additional information. Documents may be uploaded to the Additional Documents section of the NIPR Attachments Warehouse.
  • Reinstatement Guidelines: 

  • Background Questions:  

    • If an applicant responds "yes" to one of the background questions, please submit supporting documents electronically via NIPR's Attachments Warehouse
  • Adjuster Designated Home State (ADHS) Rules: 

    • The Adjuster Designated Home State selected must have an active non-resident adjuster license on the PDB.  
    • In order for an applicant to designate a home state during the application process, the applicant must have an active non-resident Adjuster license on the Producer Database (PDB) and MUST NOT have an active resident Adjuster license on PDB (in any state). 
    • If applicant holds an active resident producer (non-adjuster) license in a state that licenses resident adjusters and is designating an active non-resident adjuster license as their home state license, the designation of a home state will not be allowed. 
    • If applicant holds an active resident producer (non-adjuster) license in a state that DOES NOT license resident adjusters - and is designating an active non-resident adjuster license, the designation of a home state will be allowed. 
    • Applicants may NOT select Washington as Adjuster Designated Home State while applying for their Washington Non Resident Adjuster license.   
    • Public Adjusters cannot designate a home state.
