License management
Apply for a license
To apply for a license in Washington, visit LicenseHub.
If you can’t apply for the lines for which you have qualified, contact the state to verify that they have received the exams and any necessary pre-licensing education completion information. Also ensure that they have reported this to NIPR with the correct last name, social security number and date of birth.
Renew a license
To renew a license in Washington, visit LicenseHub.
If you can’t renew a particular line offered via NIPR, verify that the line is actively held in your resident state. If the line is not held, you cannot request that line via NIPR.
Print a license
To print your license, access your state’s license print tool and follow the instructions on the page.
Find current producer licensing information
Visit the For Producers page on the Washington State Office of the Insurance Commissioner website.
Cancel or surrender a line of authority
To cancel a license or surrender a line of authority, please send your request to: OIClicensecancellationrequests@oic.wa.gov. Your request must include the licensee's name, WAOIC number and signature. The date we process your request will be considered the license cancellation date. More information can be found on the Washington License Update Page.
Note: We cannot process surrender or cancellation requests if there is an open investigation.

Report changes to Affiliations or Designated Responsible Licensed Producers
For changes related to affiliations or Designated Responsible Licensed Producers (DRLPs), visit the Adding/removing affiliations page.
Report changes to Owners, Officers, Partners or Directors
Washington state does not track changes to Owners, Officers, Partners or Directors.
