Applicant Can
- Submit initial license for individuals electronically.
- Submit major lines of authority.
- Submit limited lines of authority.
- Submit surplus lines for individuals.
- Add lines of authority (amend) to an existing active license.
- Reinstate/reapply through NIPR's Non-Resident License (NRL) Application.
- Print license electronically.
Business Rules
Applicant must be at least eighteen (18) years old or older as determined from the applicant's date of birth.
The variable line of authority is included under the following license classes and corresponding line of authority:
- General Lines Agent - Life, Accident, Health & Health Maintenance Organization
- Life Agent - Life
Applicants who hold the license classes defined above with the respective line of authority may be appointed with a company that offers variable annuities or variable life.
The General Lines Agent - Property & Casualty includes the Personal Lines Property & Casualty Agent - Personal Lines Property & Casualty.
The General Lines Agent - Life, Accident, Health & Health Maintenance Organization includes Life Agent - Life.
Applicant must have an active equivalent license for the requested line of authority(s) in their resident state.
Applicant cannot apply for General Lines Agent -Property & Casualty AND General Lines Agent -Life, Accident, Health & Health Maintenance Organization simultaneously. Separate applications are required.
If applicant responds "yes" to one of the background questions please submit supporting documents electronically via NIPR's Attachments Warehouse. The documents may also be submitted to the state via mail, email, or fax.
