Rules and Regulations

Applicant Can

  • Submit renewals for business entities electronically.
  • Submit renewals for major lines of authority.
  • Submit renewals for limited lines of authority.
  • Late renew through NIPR's Resident License Renewal (RLR) Application.
  • Print license electronically

Applicant Cannot

  • Submit partial renewals.

Business Rules

  • Applicant must not hold an active resident license in another state

  • In order to be eligible for renewal or late renewal, the status reason on PDB must be "Active" or "Expired." If the status reason is not "Active" or "Expired" the renewal will not be allowed.

  • Applicant's name, Tax ID, license number, and addresses must match current Producer Database (PDB) record for resident state.

  • At least one (1) Designated Responsible Licensed Producer (DRLP) must be provided on the application.

  • All Designated Responsible Licensed Producers (DRLPs) provided must be actively licensed in Tennessee.

  • Public Adjuster Business Entity applicants must enter at least one (1) Designated Responsible Licensed Producer (DRLP) that is actively licensed in Tennessee as a Public Adjuster.

  • If applicant responds "yes" to one of the background questions, please submit supporting documents electronically via NIPR's Attachments Warehouse. The documents may also be submitted to the state via mail, email, or fax.
