Rules and Regulations
Applicant Can
- Submit renewals for business entities electronically.
- Submit renewals for surplus lines for business entities.
- Submit Non Resident Adjuster Renewals (NRAR) through Non Resident Renewals (NRR) application for business entities.
- Late renew through NIPR's Non-Resident Renewal Application.
- Print Licenses Electronically.
Applicant Cannot
- Submit partial renewals.
Business Rules
Applicants with a status reason of revoked or suspended may not late renew electronically.
After late renewal period, applicant may reapply through Non-Resident Licensing.
- Designated Responsible License Insurance Producer (DRLP) Rules:
- Applicants must provide at least one (1) Designated Responsible License Insurance Producer on the application. The following license types do not require a DRLP:
- Life Settlement Broker
- Portable Electronics
- Self-Service Storage
- Third Party Administrator
- Vehicle Rental Company
- All designated responsible Insurance Producers must have an active Insurance Producer license in Oregon as a resident or non-resident.
- Applicants must provide at least one (1) Designated Responsible License Insurance Producer on the application. The following license types do not require a DRLP:
Managing General Agents, Reinsurance Intermediary Broker and Reinsurance Intermediary Managers must hold any active line of authority from the Insurance Producer license class. If in late renewal and the Insurance Producer lines of authority are not active, applicant must be renewing another Insurance Producer line of authority simultaneously.
Third Party Administrator (TPA) applicants and consultant applicants must provide the E&O provider as well as the expiration date of the policy.
Adjuster or Consultant license applicants must submit an affiliation form after application is submitted. Affiliation form: https://dfr.oregon.gov/business/licensing/insurance/Documents/2139.pdf may be mailed to the address at the top of the form, faxed to 503-378-4351, or scanned and emailed to web.insagent@oregon.gov. Please reference NIPR transaction # with your form to identify your application.
If applicant responds "yes" to one of the background questions please submit supporting documents electronically via NIPR's Attachments Warehouse. The documents may also be submitted to the state via mail, email, or fax. All other required documentation must be forwarded directly to the state.
