Rules and Regulations

Applicant Can

  • Submit initial license for individuals electronically.
  • Add lines of authority (amend) to an existing active license.
  • Reinstate/reapply through NIPR's No Home State License Application.
  • Print licenses electronically.

Applicant Cannot

  • Submit limited lines of authority.
  • Sumbit major lines of authority.
  • Submit partial renewals.

Business Rules

  • Applicant's name must match current PDB record, if applicable.

  • Applicant's addresses must match current PDB record, if applicable.

  • P.O. Box addresses will not be accepted for resident or business addresses.

  • Employment history must show at least five (5) years and be listed in order from current employer back five (5) years with no gaps.

  • Applicant must provide either the Residence and/or Business address that is not in the state of Oklahoma.

  • Applicant must not have an active resident state license on PDB in any state.

  • Applicant cannot use No Home State application if the business and residence address is in a state that licenses adjusters (non-public adjuster). If one address is not in a state that offers adjuster licensing allow.

  • Applicant must be 18 years old or older as determined from the applicant's Date of Birth.

  • Adjuster applicants applying for an LOA listed in Exam section 5 must pass the required exam.

  • Applicant cannot apply for more than one adjuster exam group types per application.

    • Group 1:  Property/Casualty
    • Group 2:  Workers' Compensation
    • Group 3:  Crime Fidelity Bonds
    • Group 4:  Crop/Hail
    • Group 5: Multi-Peril Crop
  • All Emergency Adjusters must submit a sponsorship form completed by the sponsoring adjuster and faxed to the OK Insurance Department (405)522-3642 or emailed to 

    Licensing@OID.OK.GOV before the application will be processed.
    • A Sponsorship Form must be completed by the sponsoring adjuster and can be submitted via the NIPR Attachment Warehouse at [insert attachment warehouse link here] or faxed to the Oklahoman insurance Department at  (405)522-3642 or emailed to Licensing@OID.OK.GOV before this application will be processed.

    • Emergency Insurance Adjuster Sponsorship Form:

    • All electronically submitted applications must be accompanied by a completed Catastrophe (Emergency) Adjuster Sponsorship Form before being processed. All incomplete Sponsorship Forms will be disregarded and could result in the delay of application processing.  Form must be and submitted via the NIPR Attachment Warehouse at [insert attachment warehouse link here] or faxed to the Oklahoman insurance Department at (405) 522-3642 or emailed to Licensing@OID.OK.GOV.
  • Applicants applying for Multi-Peril Crop must provide Federal Risk Management Agency certification to the state.

  • Oklahoma Non-Uniform Questions
    • The Emergency Adjuster license application is only good for 90 days from the date the commissioner issues the Emergency Declaration, and must be applied for a specific catastrophe in the State of Oklahoma. Are you applying for an Emergency Adjuster license for a specific catastrophe in the State of Oklahoma? IF NOT, DO NOT PROCEED WITH THIS APPLICATION.
    • The following information must be provided: 1) Catastrophe Case Number, 2) Filing Date of Insurance Commissioner's Declaration of Emergency. The information may be found on the Oklahoman insurance Department website at www.oid.ok.gov.
      • Are you applying for an Emergency Adjuster license for a specific catastrophe in the State of Oklahoma?  Applicant must Enter the filing date of Insurance Commissioner's Declaration of Emergency.
      • An Emergency Adjuster must be sponsored by an Oklahoma Resident Adjuster that holds an active license in good standing with the state.
      • Are you sponsored by a resident Oklahoma licensed adjuster? If yes, Please provide the name of the sponsoring Adjuster and their Oklahoma Adjuster license number.

  • If applicant responds "yes" to one of the background questions please submit supporting documents electronically via NIPR's Attachments Warehouse. The documents may also be submitted to the state via mail, email, or fax.
