Applicant must provide a valid residence address. Residence address may not contain a P.O. Box.

Non-citizens of the U.S. will be reviewed by the state. Applicant must provide proof of Visa, Work Permit or Green Card to state of New Mexico. Fax documents to the Office of Superintendent of Insurance Attn: Producer Licensing Bureau (505) 827-4373.

Applicants may reinstate through Non-Resident Adjuster Licensing one year after license expiration date.

Applicants must use Non-Resident Adjuster Licensing Renewals to late renew if they are applying within one year of expiration date.

Independent Adjuster and Public Adjuster applicants shall file with OSI a surety bond in favor of the superintendent in the aggregate amount of not less than ten thousand dollars ($10,000). The bond shall be one executed by an authorized surety insurer. The original bond must be submitted to the Office of Superintendent of Insurance (OSI) office prior to submitting the application through NIPR. Staff adjuster applicants must list the name and NAIC Company Co-Code of the sponsoring Company.

Staff Adjuster appointments must be submitted online after the license is issued.

If applicant responds "yes" to one of the background questions please submit supporting documents electronically via NIPR's Attachments Warehouse. The documents may also be submitted to the state via mail, email, or fax. All other required documentation must be forwarded directly to the state.
- Adjuster Designated Home State (ADHS) Rules:
- In order for an applicant to designate a home state during the application process, the applicant must have an active non-resident adjuster license on the Producer Database (PDB) and no active resident adjuster license.
- If applicant holds an active resident non-adjuster license in a state that licenses resident adjusters, the applicant may not designate a home state.
- If designated home state license is inactive at the time of application, applicant may select another non-resident state with an active adjuster license as the designated home state.
- Applicant may not select New Mexico as their Adjuster Designated Home State while applying for their Non-Resident New Mexico license. – Applicant will need to apply via No Home State Application

Non-Resident Adjusters are required to complete CE in their Designated Home State where they hold an active license and have a CE requirement; otherwise, they must complete New Mexico CE requirements. What state will you designate to complete CE?
