Rules and Regulations
Applicant Can
- Submit initial license for business entities electronically.
- Submit major lines of authority.
- Submit limited lines of authority.
- Add lines of authority (amend) to an existing active license.
- Reinstate/reapply through NIPR's Non-Resident License (NRL) Application.
- Print Licenses Electronically.
Business Rules
Applicant's name, license number, Tax ID and state of residence must match current Producer Database (PDB) record for resident state.
Applicant must provide a valid country code and business email.
Applicant may not apply for a license in their own resident state.
Applicant may not use a P.O. Box in the business or residence addresses.
At least one (1) Designated Responsible Licensed Producer (DRLP) must have an active resident or non-resident license in the state of Georgia for applicable license types.
DRLPs provided must cumulatively cover the lines of authority (LOAs) on the application.
- An agency or organization with multiple locations seeking licensure must designate one agency location as the principal office of such organization. Georgia Agency regulations can be seen in Georgia’s website at http://rules.sos.ga.gov/gac/120-2-3
- Principal Agency – Location of principal office of agency or organization.
Georgia Department of Insurance requires every applicant to verify proof of lawful presence in the United States by submitting via NIPR's Attachments Warehouse.
If applicant responds "yes" to any of the background questions supporting documents must be electronically uploaded via NIPR's Attachments Warehouse.
Applicants must submit all required documents electronically via NIPR's Attachments Warehouse before the application can be processed.
