Rules and Regulations

Applicant Can

  • Submit initial license for business entities electronically.
  • Add lines of authority (amend) to an existing active license.
  • Reinstate/reapply through NIPR's No Home State License Application.
  • Print License electronically.

Applicant Cannot

  • Submit major lines of authority.
  • Submit limited lines of authority.

Business Rules

  • If applicant has an Arizona resident license that is active or in the late renewal period (up to one year past license expiration date), applicant will be rejected from applying for Non-Resident License.

  • If applicant responds "yes" to one of the background questions please submit supporting documents electronically via NIPR's Attachments Warehouse. The documents may also be submitted to the state via mail, email, or fax.

  • Applicant's addresses must match current PDB record, if applicable.

  • Applicant must provide a business address that is not in the state of Arizona.

  • All instances of phone number must be a valid 10 digit phone number.

  • Applicant must not have an active resident state license on PDB in any state.

  • Business Entity applicants who have no active AZ license record on PDB must enter at least one 'Individual' entity type on the Owners, Officers, Partners and Directors (OPOD) section of the application. *fingerprint fees will apply.

  • Changes to Owners, Partners, Officers and/or Directors (OPOD) cannot be updated through this process. If you need to update the OPOD's please submit form L-177 which is available on our website https://insurance.az.gov/producers/licensing-related-form.

  • Business Entity applicants must be one of the Legal Business Types listed below.

    • Partnership
    • Limited Liability Company (LLC)
    • Limited Liability Partnership (LLP)
    • Corporation
  • Exactly one Designated Responsible Licensed Producer (DRLP) must be provided on application. The DRLP entered must have an active equivalent Arizona license class on PDB (resident or non-resident) for the license class supplied in the transaction.

  • P.O. Box or PMB (Private Mailbox) cannot be used for business address.

  • If applicant actively holds LOA of Limited to Resident Authority on PDB, application for Adjuster LOA will not be permitted.

  • If applicant actively holds Adjuster LOA, application for Portable Electronics Adjuster will not be permitted.

  • Applicants with a status reason of surrendered cannot reapply for one year from date of surrender. After one year applicant must reapply as new.

  • Applicant's Non-Resident (active or inactive) AZ license must not have the following status reasons:

    • Suspended
    • Revoked
    • Deceased
    • Refuse to Renew
    • Military 
    • Inactive- DIFI Staff
    • Inactive- Relocation
