Rules and Regulations
Applicant Can
- Submit initial license for business entities electronically.
- Submit major lines of authority.
- Submit limited lines of authority.
- Add lines of authority (amend) to an existing active license.
- Reinstate/reapply through NIPR's Non-Resident License (NRL) Application.
- Print Licenses Electronically.
Business Rules
Applicant's name, license number, Tax ID and state of residence must match current Producer Database (PDB) record for resident state.
Applicant must provide a valid country code and business email.
Applicant may not apply for a license in their own resident state.
Applicant may not use a P.O. Box in the business or residence addresses.
Designated Responsible Licensed Producer (DRLP)
- A DRLP is required when applying for a Principal Agency license.
- One or more DRLPs must be listed on the application.
- The DRLP(s) must collectively hold active licenses covering all lines of authority requested by the business entity.
- DRLPs are not required for the following license types:
- Rental Company (Resident)
- Self-Storage Provider (Resident)
- Retail Vendor of Portable Electronics Insurance
Proof of Lawful Presence
- The Georgia Department of Insurance requires verification of lawful presence in the United States.
- If multiple DRLPs are listed on the application, only one (1) DRLP must submit proof of lawful presence.
- The following must be submitted via NIPR’s Attachments Warehouse:
- A signed, notarized Citizenship Affidavit Form
- One secure and verifiable identification document
- An agency or organization with multiple locations seeking licensure must designate one agency location as the principal office of such organization. Georgia Agency regulations can be seen in Georgia’s website at http://rules.sos.ga.gov/gac/120-2-3
- Principal Agency – Location of principal office of agency or organization.
If applicant responds "yes" to any of the background questions supporting documents must be electronically uploaded via NIPR's Attachments Warehouse.
Applicants must submit all required documents electronically via NIPR's Attachments Warehouse before the application can be processed.

To apply for a resident license in Georgia (individual or business entity), visit the Georgia Producer Portal (Sircon/Vertafore).
Resident initial license applications are not available through NIPR.
