Rules and Regulations
Applicant Can
- Submit renewals for business entities electronically.
- Submit renewals for major lines of authority.
- Submit renewals for limited lines of authority.
- Submit renewals for surplus lines for business entities.
- Late renew through NIPR's Resident License Renewal (RLR) Application.
- Print license electronically.
Applicant Cannot
- Renew partial lines.
Business Rules
After one (1) year past license expiration date, applicant must reinstate through the Resident License (RL) Application.
Applicant cannot renew or reinstate license day one (1) through day three (3) after expiration date.
If renewing for the license type surplus lines, applicant must hold an active resident producer license in Utah with equivalent active property and/or casualty lines of authority (LOAs).
Applicant with a resident Utah license in an active or inactive status may not late renew electronically if status reason is canceled, deceased, denied, revoked, failure to maintain or surrendered in lieu of admin.
Applicants with the following status reasons may apply through initial applications at any time electronically: canceled.
All Designated Responsible Licensed Producers (DRLPs) provided on the application must have an active license in Utah and must cumulatively cover the cost of the requested LOAs, excluding third party administrators (TPAs).
If applicant responds "yes" to one of the background questions please submit supporting documents electronically via NIPR's Attachments Warehouse. The documents may also be submitted to the state via mail, email, or fax.
