Applicant Can
- Submit renewal application for business entities electronically.
- Late renew through NIPR's Non-Resident Renewal Application.
- Print license electronically.
Applicant Cannot
- Submit renewals for surplus lines for business entities.
- Submit partial renewals.
Business Rules
Applicant must provide a valid business email address.
Applicant cannot renew earlier than 90 days prior to license expiration date.
Managing General Agent renewal applicant must have an active Business Entity license on the Producer Database.
At least one ‘Owner’ must be supplied on the application and ownership percentage must total 100%.
Applicant must renew the license before applying for additional lines/ amending.
Applicants that have a status reason of Voluntary Surrender may reapply at any time.
The following license classes may reapply one year after license expiration date:

- Portable Electronics
The following license classes must submit reapplication starting the day after expiration date:
- Case Management Plan

If applicants license status reason is Revoked or Suspended, application is not allowed. Please contact the South Dakota Division of Insurance directly at sdinsurance@state.sd.us.

If applicant responds "yes" to one of the background questions please submit supporting documents electronically via NIPR's Attachments Warehouse. The documents may also be submitted to the state via mail, email, or fax. All other required documentation must be forwarded directly to the state.
