Applicant Can

  • Submit renewals for individuals electronically.
  • Late renew through NIPR's Non-Resident Renewal No Home State Application

  • Submit limited lines of authority.
  • Submit a partial renewal. All Lines of Authority must be renewed.

Business Rules

  • Applicant must not have an active resident state license on PDB in any state.

  • In order for an adjuster applicant to renew through the No Home State renewal application the Designated Home State on PDB must be Rhode Island.

  • Applicant cannot renew earlier than 90 days prior to license expiration date.

  • There is a grace period the day after expiration date up to 30 days with no additional fees.  

  • Rhode Island will allow reinstatement of a license if:
    • Expiration date is greater than thirty (30) days and less than three hundred and sixty-five (365) days.
    • Reinstatement must be processed through Non-Resident No Home State Renewal (NRRNHS) Application.
  • The Emergency Adjuster license is a temporary license that is active for 120 days. The day after expiration date, applicant is eligible to apply for a new license through No Home State initials and does not renew.

  • Emergency, Public, Company/Independent Adjuster licenses cannot be actively held simultaneously.

  • Applicant must provide either residence or business address that is not in the state of Rhode Island.

  • If applicant responds "yes" to one of the background questions please submit supporting documents electronically via NIPR's Attachments Warehouse. The documents may also be submitted to the state via mail, email, or fax.

All License Classes

Renewal Period: Ninety (90) days prior to expiration.

Late Renewal Period:  Thirty (30) days after expiration.

  • 30 day grace period for expired licenses. Allows renewal with no additional fee.

Reinstatement Period:  Thirty one (31) days to one year after license expired.
