Rules and Regulations

Applicant Can

  • Submit adjuster for individuals electronically.
  • Submit Adjuster Designated Home State (ADHS) electronically.
  • Print licenses electronically.

Applicant Cannot

  • Submit adjuster for business entities electronically.
  • Submit partial renewals.
  • Late renew through NIPR's Non-Resident Renewal Application.

Business Rules

  • General Requirements

    • P.O. Box addresses are not accepted for resident or business addresses.
    • Partial renewals are not permitted.
    • The applicant's home state license state must match the current licensing record.
  • Designated Home State (DHS) Requirements

    • The selected Designated Home State (DHS) must have an active non-resident adjuster license.
    • Applicants who hold an active resident adjuster license may not designate a DHS.
    • Applicants who hold an active resident producer license in a state that licenses resident adjusters may not use that producer license as a DHS.
    • Applicants whose residence is located in a state that licenses resident adjusters may not designate a DHS.
    • Applicants may not change their Designated Home State (DHS) during the renewal process.
    • Oklahoma may not be selected as a Designated Home State for an Oklahoma non-resident adjuster license renewal.
    • Public Adjusters may not designate a DHS.
    • The selected DHS must be one of Oklahoma's approved Designated Home States.

    * Kentucky licenses are accepted for Independent Adjusters only. Staff Adjuster licenses are not accepted.

  • Address Violations

    • Applicants with an address violation on their licensing record must update their address information before renewing. Once the address information has been updated, the license may be eligible for renewal.

Renewal Periods

Important: Oklahoma licenses remain active for up to three (3) days following the expiration date. During this period, licensees may still be eligible to renew. Beginning on the fourth (4th) day after expiration, eligible applicants must use the reinstatement process.

Begins: Ninety (90) days prior to expiration date. Ends: Expiration date.

Reinstatement period

Begins: Four (4) days after the expiration date. Ends: One (1) year after the expiration date. Reinstatement applications must be submitted through the Initial Application process.

Public Adjuster

Renewal period

Begins: Ninety (90) days prior to the expiration date. Ends: Expiration date.

Reinstatement period

Begins: Four (4) days after the expiration date. Ends: One (1) year after the expiration date. Reinstatement applications must be submitted through the Initial Application process.

Continuing Education

Non-Resident Adjusters must satisfy continuing education (CE) requirements before renewing their Oklahoma license.

CE requirements may be satisfied by either:

  • Completing Oklahoma continuing education requirements; or
  • Completing continuing education requirements in a state where the adjuster holds an active adjuster license and is in good standing with that state's continuing education requirements.

If CE requirements were completed in another state, applicants may be required to identify the state in which CE requirements were satisfied during the renewal process.

Oklahoma Continuing Education Requirements

  • 24 hours of Continuing Education
    • 3 hours of Ethics
    • 2 hours of Legislative Update
    • 19 hours of Adjuster General Education
