Rules and Regulations

Applicant Can

  • Submit renewals for individuals electronically.
  • Submit renewals for surplus lines for individuals.
  • Late renew through NIPR's Non-Resident Renewal Application.
  • Print licenses electronically.
  • Renew Variable when also renewing Life.

Applicant Cannot

  • Submit partials.

Business Rules

  • Applicants may use Non-Resident Licensing Renewals to late renew if they are applying within one year of expiration date.

  • Applicants must reinstate through Non-Resident Licensing one year after license expiration date.

  • Current title holders will automatically receive the Escrow Line of Authority (LOA) in addition to their Title LOA. Future applicants can take exams for Title, Escrow, or both, and will be able to apply for the corresponding LOAs.

  • New Lines of Authority for Insurance Consultants, including Fraternal, Fraternal Accident and Health, Fraternal Life, and Fraternal Variable Life and Annuity, will apply to the same license type

  • Applicant must currently hold and renew life if they are renewing variable.

  • Please submit supporting documents and all other required documents electronically via NIPR's Attachment Warehouse or submit to the state via mail, email, or fax.

Renewal Periods

  • All License Classes
    • Renewal Period: 90 days prior to expiration date
    • Late Renewal Grace Period (additional fee): Day 1-30 after expiration of license.
    • Late Renewal Period (additional fee): Day 31- one year after expiration of license.
