Applicant Can
- Submit initial license for individuals electronically.
- Submit major lines of authority.
- Submit limited lines of authority.
- Submit Surplus Lines for individuals.
- Add lines of authority (amend) to an existing active license.
- Reinstate/reapply through NIPR's Resident License Application.
- Print Licenses Electronically.
Business Rules
Applicant must be at least eighteen (18) years old or older as determined from the applicant's date of birth.
Applicants with a status reason of 'Revoked' or 'Suspended' should not be allowed to apply electronically.
Surplus Lines applicants must actively hold the Property & Casualty lines of authority (LOA).
Applicant holding 'Property & Casualty' LOA is not allowed to apply for Property, Casualty, or Personal Lines.
Variable Life and Variable Annuity applicants must supply FINRA CRD number.
Applicants amending a license must not be in a 90 day renewal or late renewal period.
Additional Documentation Requirements:
- Any required documentation must be submitted within thirty (30) days of the application date or the application will be declined and fees forfeited.
- Documents should be submitted electronically through NIPR’s Attachments Warehouse. Documents may also be submitted to the state via email or mail.
- All correspondence must include the applicant’s name, SSN/FEIN, NIPR Transaction Number, and National Producer Number (NPN), if available.
- Non-Citizen Applicants:
Must submit appropriate Employment Authorization documentation or Permanent Resident Card
Background Questions:
If the applicant answers “Yes” to any background question, the following documentation is required:
A written statement explaining the circumstances
A copy of the official document demonstrating the resolution of the charges or final judgment
