Rules and Regulations
Applicant Can
- Submit renewals for individuals electronically.
- Submit renewals for major lines of authority.
- Submit renewals for limited lines of authority.
- Submit renewals for surplus lines for individuals.
- Late renew through NIPR's Non-Resident Renewal (NRR) Application.
- Print License electronically.

Business Rules
Applicant cannot late renew an inactive license. Applicant must reinstate or reapply through Non-Resident License (NRL) Application.
Non-Res Producer/Producer Firm and Non-Resident Surplus Lines broker applicants with a status reason of 'Failure to Renew' on the Producer Database must reinstate license through NRL as long as application date is more than thirty-one (31) and up to one (1) year past the expiration date.
Applicant must have an equivalent license for the requested Lines of Authority in the requested state with the exception for the 'Other' in lines of authority section.
Applicant with an active Independent Adjuster or Public Adjuster license may not renew a Non-Res Producer/Producer Firm license with Property or Casualty lines of authority, or renew a Non-Resident Surplus Lines Broker license.
Applicant cannot renew a Non-Resident Surplus Lines Broker license if applicant actively holds Independent adjuster or Public Adjuster license on the Producer Database (PDB).
Applicants are not required to list affiliations on the Agency or Business Entity Affiliations section of the application. Information entered on this page will not be updated in the state’s system.
If applicant responds "yes" to one of the background questions please submit supporting documents electronically via NIPR's Attachments Warehouse.
Renewal Periods
- All License Classes
- Renewal Period Begins: Ninety (90) days prior to expiration date.
- Renewal Period Ends: Expiration date.
- Late Renewal Period: Up to Thirty (30) days after expiration date
