Rules and Regulations
Applicant Can
- Submit renewals for business entities electronically, (certain classes only).
- Submit renewals for limited lines of authority.
- Submit renewals for surplus lines for business entities.
- Late renew through NIPR's Non-Resident Renewal (NRR) Application.
- Print license electronically.
Applicant Cannot
- Submit a partial renewal. All lines of authority must be renewed.
Business Rules
Applicant cannot late renew an inactive license. Applicant must reinstate or reapply through Non-Resident License (NRL) application.
At least one (1) Designated Responsible Licensed Producer (DRLP) must be listed for the following license types:
- Disability (Health) if Certified Exchange Producer is requested.
- Navigator if Navigator is requested.
- Any LOA from Insurance Producer license class if Managing General Agent is requested.
- Property and Casualty if Rental Vehicle Entity is requested.
Business entity (agency) licenses are perpetual and don't require a renewal fee. In order for a business entity license to remain active, there must be at least one (1) active licensed producer.
If applicant responds "yes" to one of the background questions, please submit supporting documents electronically via NIPR's Attachments Warehouse. The documents may also be submitted to the state via mail, email, or fax.
Renewal Periods
- All License Classes
- Renewal Period: Ninety (90) days prior to expiration.
- Late Renewal Period: Up to one (1) year after expiration date
