Fees shown are state fees only. These fees do not include NIPR transaction fees.
- All fees are charged per application.
- Applicants who are reinstating an inactive license will be charged the initial licensing fee.
PLEASE NOTE: If you receive a duplicate application warning from NIPR, please STOP and call the NIPR help desk or the department’s help desk at 573-751-3518 to determine the cause of the warning and prevent duplicate fee payments, which may not be refundable.
- Avoid these common errors that cause duplicate fee payments:
- Applicant marked the incorrect line of authority when completing the application.
- Applicant applied for a business entity producer (BEP) license that was already held by the BEP.
- Applicant completed two (2) identical applications.
- Applicant applied for a license they are not required to hold.

Applicant Can
- Submit initial license for individuals electronically.
- Submit major lines of authority.
- Submit limited lines of authority.
- Submit Surplus Lines for individuals.
- Add lines of authority (amend) to an existing active license.
- Reinstate/reapply through NIPR's Resident License (RL) Application.
- Print licenses electronically.
Business Rules
Note: The Missouri Department of Commerce and Insurance does not issue Letters of Certification or Letters of Clearance. If your new resident state requires a Letter of Clearance, Missouri may cancel your license upon request and/or update your license to non-resident status. Once the cancellation and/or changes are complete, the status of your license may be verified by all states through the National Producer Database (PDB) or through SBS.
Applicants with a status reason of Voluntary Surrender are not eligible for renewal. Applicant is required to apply as a new applicant and meet all initial licensing requirements.
An applicant may not apply electronically if a resident license was held in another state within the past ninety (90) days.
Applicant must provide a residence and/or business address in the state.
Applicant must not a have an active non-resident license in the state.
Motor Vehicle Extended Services Contract applicants may reapply through Resident Licensing application the day after expiration date. New licensing requirements will need to be met.
Applicant applying for line of authority (LOA) of Variable Life and Variable Annuities must hold active resident Life line of authority (LOA) or be applying for Life line of authority (LOA).
Resident Surplus Lines Producers must hold an active Insurance Producer license with active Property and Casualty lines of authority (LOA).
Insurance Producer applicants with the exception of Motor Vehicle Extended Services Contract, will be allowed to late-renew their license electronically for up to one year past license expiration date.
Applicants must be 21 years old or older as determined from the applicant’s Date of Birth for the following classes: Bail Bond Agent, General Bail Bond Agent, and Surety Recovery Agent.
Limited Lines Self-Service Storage Producer applicants are required to complete qualified training program. Please submit the form located at (https://stateofmissouri.wufoo.com/forms/q10fw6d30qxizwd/).
Public Adjuster applicants are required to submit supplemental documentation. Please submit the form located at (https://stateofmissouri.wufoo.com/forms/qu1vpmf0giihob/).
Applicants applying for the Bail Bond Agent, General Bail Bond Agent, and Surety Recovery Agent license classes must be US Citizen.
Bail Bond Agent applicants are required to submit supplemental documentation and fingerprints. Please submit the form located at (https://stateofmissouri.wufoo.com/forms/q1is1v5n0yg5wvj/). Missouri requires fingerprints to be resubmitted through MACHS. For further information on how to submit fingerprints through their system, please visit: https://www.machs.mo.gov/MACHSFP/home.html. General Bail Bond Agent license requires that applicant has previously held a Bail Bond Agent license for two years.

Navigator applicants are required to submit supplemental documentation and to pass the Navigator exam or actively hold a Federal Certified Marketplace Certificate. Please submit the form located at (https://stateofmissouri.wufoo.com/forms/q1orbvi817xcvel/).
Surplus Lines applicant can reapply for their license starting the day after the expiration date. Note: exam requirements and all initial licensing requirements apply for Surplus Lines reinstatement transactions.
If applicant responds "yes" to one of the background questions please submit supporting documents electronically via
NIPR's Attachments Warehouse. The documents may also be submitted to the state via mail, email, or fax.- Non-citizens must submit work authorization.
