Rules and Regulations
Applicant Can
- Submit renewals for business entities electronically.
- Submit renewals for major lines of authority.
- Submit renewals for limited lines of authority.
- Submit Non Resident Adjuster Renewals (NRAR) through Non Resident Renewal (NRR) application for business entities.
- Late renew through NIPR's Non-Resident Renewal (NRR) Application for some license types listed below.
- Print licenses electronically.
Applicant Cannot
- Submit renewals for surplus lines for business entities.
Business Rules
Licenses with status reasons of canceled for cause, revoked, or suspended cannot reinstate.
Licenses with a status reason of “failure to renew” can reinstate through Non-Resident License Renewal (NRR) Application with a penalty fee up to one year after expiration. One year applicants must reapply through NIPR's Non-Resident License (NRL) Application.
If applicant responds "yes" to one of the background questions please submit supporting documents electronically via NIPR's Attachments Warehouse. The documents may also be submitted to the state via mail, email, or fax.
Eligible license classes may reinstate their licenses up to one year following license expiration date with payment of license fee and fifty percent (50%) penalty fee.

- Designated Responsible Licensed Producer (DRLP) Rules:
- At least one (1) DRLP must be provided on the application. This excludes Portable Electronics Entity, Third Party Administrator, Viatical Settlement Broker Entity, Viatical Settlement Provider, Viatical Settlement Representative Entity applicants.
- The DRLP listed on the application must have an active Mississippi license on PDB. This excludes Portable Electronics, Third Party Administrator, Viatical Settlement Broker Entity, Viatical Settlement Provider, Viatical Settlement Representative Entity applicants.
- Adjuster applicants must provide a DRLP that is actively licensed in Mississippi as an adjuster.
- Limited Lines Self-Storage Insurance Producer Entity's Designated Responsible Licensed Producer must actively hold a Limited Lines Self-Storage Insurance Producer or Insurance Producer license with Property and Casualty lines of authority.
- Insurance Producer Entity’s DRLP must actively hold an Insurance Producer.
- Public Adjuster applicants must provide a DRLP that is actively licensed in Mississippi as a public adjuster.
- Reinsurance Intermediary Broker or Reinsurance Intermediary Manager applicants must provide at least one DRLP that is actively license in Mississippi for Reinsurance Intermediary Broker or Reinsurance Intermediary Manager or Insurance Producer with any Line of Authority.
- Limited Lines Travel Insurance Producer Business Entity applicants must provide a DRLP that is actively licensed in MS for a Limited Lines Insurance Producer with Travel or Insurance Producer with Property and Casualty.
- Supervising General Agent Entity's DRLP must hold a Supervising General Agent or Insurance Producer license.
- Managing General Agent's DRLP must hold a Managing General Agent or Insurance Producer license.
