Rules and Regulations

Applicant Can

  • Submit renewal applications for individuals electronically.
  • Print licenses electronically.

Applicant Cannot

  • Submit major lines of authority.

Business Rules

  • General Requirements

    • Applicants must not hold an active resident producer license in any state. Applicants with an active resident license must renew through the NIPR Non-Resident Renewal application instead of the No Home State Renewal application.
    • If you answer "Yes" to any background question on the Uniform Application, submit supporting documentation electronically through the NIPR Attachments Warehouse.
  • Renewal Eligibility

    • Applicants with a license status of Voluntary Surrender must reapply through the No Home State initial application regardless of the license expiration date.
  • Motor Club

    • Motor Club agent applications must be submitted by the Motor Club the agent is affiliated with. A Motor Club agent license will not be issued to an individual who is not affiliated with a Motor Club.

Up to one (1) year after the expiration date.

Renewal period

Begins ninety (90) days prior to the license expiration date. Ends the day after the license expiration date.

Reapplication period

After expiration, applicants must submit a new No Home State initial application.
