Applicant Can
- Submit initial license applications for individuals electronically.
- Print licenses electronically.
Applicant Cannot
- Submit major lines of authority.
Business Rules
General Requirements
- Applicants must not hold an active resident producer license in any state. Applicants with an active resident license are not eligible for a No Home State license.
- If you answer "Yes" to any background question on the Uniform Application, submit supporting documentation electronically through the NIPR Attachments Warehouse.
- Applicants who are not U.S. citizens must submit proof of authorization to work in the United States or a Permanent Resident Card through the NIPR Attachments Warehouse.
- Documentation must be received within 30 days of the application date and include the applicant's Social Security number and transaction number. Applications will be declined if the required documentation is not received within 30 days.
Motor Club
Motor Club agent applications must be submitted by the Motor Club the agent is affiliated with. A Motor Club agent license will not be issued to an individual who is not affiliated with a Motor Club. Business entity Motor Club licenses are not issued to business entities selling on behalf of a Motor Club. Business entity Motor Club applications are to be submitted by Motor Clubs only.
Supplemental Documentation
- The following applicants must submit supplemental documentation through the NIPR Attachments Warehouse / Additional Licensing Document section:
- Auto Damage Appraiser: https://www.mass.gov/info-details/licensing-requirements-motor-vehicle-damage-appraiser
- Motor Club: No supplemental documentation is required at the time of application unless specifically requested by the Massachusetts Division of Insurance.
Late Renewals/Reinstatements
- Motor Club: Late renewal is not permitted. Once the license expires, applicants must submit a new initial application.
- Auto Damage Appraiser: Licenses may be late renewed for up to one year after the license expiration date through the renewal application.
