Fees

Fees are per line of authority.
An individual submitting insurance application or renewal fees who is the spouse of a current member of the Armed Forces of the United States who is assigned a duty station in the Commonwealth of Kentucky shall be eligible for refund of fees, pursuant to KRS 12:357. Upon notification to the Kentucky Department of Insurance, the fees will be refunded to the individual within thirty (30) days of their submission if the applicant demonstrates compliance with the requirements of KRS 12:357.
- To demonstrate compliance with KRS 12.357, an applicant shall include the following with their application:
  - Proof that the applicant is married to a current member of the Armed Forces of the United States;
  - Proof that the applicant's spouse is assigned to a duty station in the Commonwealth of Kentucky; and
  - Proof that the applicant has satisfied all statutory and regulatory pre-licensing course of study requirements, and all statutory and regulatory examination requirements, or proof that the applicant holds a valid individual insurance license issued by another state, the District of Columbia, or any possession or territory of the United States.

NIPR does not verify exams prior to allowing submission of an application, however, an exam is required prior to the state’s approval of the request.

Applicant must not have an active resident state license on PDB in any state.
In order for an applicant to apply for or reinstate through the No Home State initial application for an Individual Adjuster license the applicant MUST NOT have an active nonresident adjuster license on PDB (in any other state). Note: Public Adjusters will be treated as Producers.
Independent Adjuster and Staff Adjuster licenses cannot be actively held.
Applicant must be eighteen (18) years old or older as determined from the applicant's date of birth.
Applicants who are non-citizens must provide a copy of work authorization or green card.
If applicant responds "yes" to one of the background questions, please submit supporting documents electronically via NIPR's Attachments Warehouse. The documents may also be submitted to the state via mail, email, or fax.
