License management
Apply for a license
To apply for a license in Kentucky, visit LicenseHub.
If you can’t apply for the lines for which you have qualified, contact the state to verify that they have received the exams and any necessary pre-licensing education completion information. Also ensure that they have reported this to NIPR with the correct last name, social security number and date of birth.
Renew a license
To renew a license in Kentucky, visit LicenseHub.
If you can’t renew a particular line offered via NIPR, verify that the line is actively held in your resident state. If the line is not held, you cannot request that line via NIPR.

Cancel or surrender a line of authority
Kentucky eServices Please note, non-residents applicants must maintain the LOAs they hold in KY in their current resident state in order to renew. If additional LOAs are held in KY than held in the resident state, the LOA must be cancelled prior to renewal using the KY Eservices System to complete a “voluntary surrender” of the LOAs through the established eServices account, or contact DOI.LicensingMail@ky.gov for assistance.

Exams and continuing education
Schedule an exam
To schedule a licensing exam, contact the Kentucky DOI at 502-564-6004. Once your application is processed, you can access this information through your eServices portal.
To register for an eServices account, visit the eServices page and select Create Account. Follow the instructions on the page.
