Applicant Can

Applicant Cannot

Business Rules

  • Applicant must be at least eighteen (18) years old or older as determined from the applicant's date of birth.

  • If applicant responds "yes" to one of the background questions please submit supporting documents electronically via NIPR's Attachments Warehouse. The documents may also be submitted to the state via email at KID.Licensing@ks.gov.

  • Applicant must not have an active resident license in Kansas.

  • PO Boxes and Private Mailboxes (PMB) are only permitted in the mailing address field.

  • Pharmacy Benefit Managers renewal applicants must complete the following:

 

  • Third Party Administrator applicants must submit TPA supplemental documentation to the Kansas Department of Insurance via the NIPR's Attachments Warehouse
    • Third Party Administrator applicants must have an active Third Party Administrator license with a home state or designated home state of 
      • Alaska (AK) 
      • Delaware (DE) 
      • Florida (FL) 
      • Idaho (ID) 
      • Indiana (IN) 
      • Missouri (MO)

      • West Virginia (WV) 
        • Please apply using the No Home State renewal application if your home state is not specified. 
  • Applicants with a status reason of Voluntary Surrender are not eligible for renewal and are required to reapply through initial licensing application.

Late Renewal Period:

  • Starts: One (1) day after expiration date.
  • Ends: Ninety (90) days after expiration date.

  • Starts: Ninety (90) days prior to expiration date.
  • Ends: On expiration date.

Pharmacy Benefit Manager

Starts: Ninety (90) days prior to expiration.

Ends: Expiration date. 

Late Renewal Period:  Up to one year past expiration date. 

Third Party Administrator

Starts: Ninety (90) days prior to expiration. 

Ends: Expiration date.  

Late Renewal Period:  Up to 90 days past expiration date.  

Surplus Lines

  • Starts: Ninety (45) days prior to expiration date.
  • Ends: On expiration date.

Frequently Asked Questions

Online printing information can be found by going to NIPR's license print page and selecting the state.

Exam scores are valid for one (1) year from exam date. 

To surrender a resident insurance license, the agent should submit a written request, providing name and national producer number (NPN) directly to the Kansas Department of Insurance.

NIPR is currently working with Kansas to make access to Continuing Education (CE) transcript data available via MYNIPR.
