Scenario 1: CE is completed from day 1 – 29 (based on CE compliance date) following license expiration date and is being renewed within 1 year of expiration date, the total state fee collected will be $220 (Late renewal fee of $120 + Late CE fee of $100).

Scenario 2: CE is completed from day 30 – 59 (based on CE compliance date) following license expiration date and is being renewed within 1 year of expiration date, the total state fee collected will be $320 (Late renewal fee of $120 + Late CE fee of $200).

Scenario 3: CE is completed from day 60 – 90 (based on CE compliance date) following license expiration date and is being renewed within 1 year of expiration date, the total state fee collected will be $420 (Late renewal fee of $120 + Late CE fee of $300).

Scenario 4: CE is completed 91 days or more following license expiration date, then late CE fee will not apply. Applicant will be charged an $80 application fee and may be required to retake their exams.

Rules and Regulations
Applicant Can
- Submit renewals for individuals electronically.

Applicant Cannot

Business Rules
Applicants renewing Surplus Lines must hold an active Insurance Producer license with active Property and Casualty lines of authority on PDB.
Applicants renewing Managing General Agent must hold an active Insurance Producer license with active Property and Casualty lines of authority on PDB.
Applicants for Life Settlement Broker or Life Settlement must have active Insurance Producer license with Life line of authority on PDB.
- Bail Bond Agent applicants are required to complete fingerprinting and appointment.
- Applicant must visit the following link and submit original bond in the amount of $15,000 and the COMPLETED AND SIGNED appointment form to: Idaho Dept of Insurance, P.O. Box 83720, Boise ID, 83720-0043
- Idaho Department of Insurance requires bail agents to provide proof of fingerprints before processing a renewal. Residents can provide an Idaho test center receipt by faxing to 208-334-4398, Attention: Licensing. Non-residents will need to contact the state for instructions at agent@doi.idaho.gov. The renewal process will not be completed until a return is received from the FBI.
- All license types will be allowed to late renew for up to one year past the license expiration date. After one year following license expiration date the applicant will need to apply through initial licensing application.
- Note: Status Reason on PDB will be ‘Expired’ during late renewal period.
All active lines of authority will renew simultaneously (of those offered electronically through NIPR). No partial renewals will be accepted.
- Individual applicants must provide a residence and/or business address in Idaho.
- Note: If both the residence and business addresses are not in ID, the transaction will be declined.
- Residence and Business address fields must not contain a PO Box or PMB (Private Mailbox).
- Mailing address is allowed to contain a PO Box or PMB (Private Mailbox).
All instances of phone number must be a valid 10-digit phone number (extensions are allowed).
Applicants with a status reason of Voluntary Surrender are not eligible for renewal and are required to reapply through initial licensing application.
If applicant responds "yes" to one of the background questions, please submit supporting documents electronically via NIPR's Attachments Warehouse.
Renewal Periods
All License Classes
Renewal Period: Ninety (90) days prior to expiration date.
Late Renewal: Up to one year past license expiration date.
Continuing Education
NIPR verifies compliance with the states CE requirement prior to allowing submission of a renewal application. You may select your resident state on the following link: Verify My CE to view your CE transcript and determine whether the state has updated your status to compliant in their system and on what date. It generally takes up to 72 hours from the compliance date for the status to be updated in our system.
