Rules and Regulations

Applicant Can

  • Submit renewals for Business Entities electronically.
  • Submit Late Renewals for Business Entities electronically.
  • Print licenses electronically.

Applicant Cannot

  • Submit major lines of authority.
  • Submit limited lines of authority.
  • Submit a partial renewal. All Lines of Authority must be renewed.

Business Rules

  • Applicant must not have an active resident state license on PDB in any state.

  • Applicant cannot renew earlier than 90 days prior to license expiration date.

  • All license types will be allowed to late renew for up to one year past the license expiration date. After one year following license expiration date the applicant will need to apply through initial licensing application.

  • All active lines of authority will renew simultaneously (of those offered electronically through NIPR). No partial renewals will be accepted.

  • Business address fields must not contain a PO Box or PMB (Private Mailbox).
    • PO Box and Private Mailbox (PMB) are allowed in the mailing address field.
  • All Third Party Administrator applicants are required to submit the following: Third Party Administrators  
    • Documents can be uploaded to the NIPR Attachments Warehouse
    • Applicants who can’t submit electronically should email to doi.tpa@doi.idaho.gov.
    • If sending a bond, please mail the documentation to:

  • All instances of phone number must be a valid 10-digit phone number (extensions are allowed).

  • Applicants with a status reason of Voluntary Surrender are not eligible for renewal and are required to reapply through initial licensing application.

  • If applicant responds "yes" to one of the background questions please submit supporting documents electronically via NIPR's Attachments Warehouse.

Renewal Periods

All License Classes except Third Party Administrator

  • Renewal Period: Ninety (90) days prior to expiration date.
  • Late Renewal Period: Up to one (1) year past expiration date.

Third Party Administrator

Renewal period

Renewal Period: Sixty (60) days prior to expiration date.

Late renewal period

Late Renewal Period: Up to one year past license expiration date.
