  • $20 Processing Fee for Application fee for the following license classes: Retail Vendors of PEI RES, Self Storage Provider - Resident, and Rental Company- Resident license

Rules and Regulations

Applicant Can

  • Submit initial license for business entities electronically.
  • Submit major lines of authority.
  • Submit limited lines of authority.
  • Reapply through NIPR's Resident License (RL) Application.
  • Print Licenses Electronically.

Business Rules

  • Applicant must select one of the following legal business types.
    • Corporation
    • Partnership
    • Limited Liability Company (LLC)
    • Limited Liability Partnership (LLP)
    • Sole Proprietor
  • Applicant must provide a valid mailing address and business address. The business address must be in the state of Georgia. P.O. Boxes are only allowed in the mailing address.

  • An agency or organization with multiple locations seeking licensure must designate one agency location as the principal office of such organization.  Georgia Agency regulations can be seen in Georgia’s website at http://rules.sos.ga.gov/gac/120-2-3
    • Principal Agency – Location of principal office of agency or organization.
  • At least one (1) Designated Responsible Licensed Producer (DRLP) must be provided on application. The DRLP(s) must cumulatively cover all lines of authority requested on the application. The LOA must be active on the DRLP(s) license. Exception for DRLP requirement: rental company - resident, self storage provider - resident, and retail vendors of PEI licenses do not require a DRLP.

  • Georgia Department of Insurance requires every applicant to verify proof of lawful presence in the United States by submitting the following documents via NIPR's Attachments Warehouse.
  • If applicant responds "yes" to any of the background questions supporting documents must be electronically uploaded via NIPR's Attachments Warehouse.

  • Applicants must submit all required documents electronically via NIPR's Attachments Warehouse before the application can be processed.
