Rules and Regulations
Applicant Can
- Submit renewals for business entities electronically.
- Submit renewals for surplus lines for business entities.
- Submit Non-Resident Adjuster Renewal (NRAR) through Non-Resident Renewal (NRR) application for business entities.
- Late renew through NIPR's Non-Resident Renewal (NRR) application.
- Print license electronically.
Applicant Cannot
- Submit a partial renewal. All lines of authority must be renewed.
Business Rules
- Delaware will allow late renewal of a license via Non-Resident Renewal (NRR) application if:
- License status is active and license is past expiration date, up to one (1) year past expiration date, OR
- License status is Cancelled with a status reason of “NON RENEWED / NOT CE COMPLIANT”, up to 1 year past expiration date
Otherwise, applicant will need to reinstate via Non-Resident Licensing Application.
At least one Designated Responsible Licensed Producer (DRLP) must be provided.
All Designated Responsible Licensed Producers (DRLPs) must be actively licensed in Delaware for the license class requested.
17B Travel applicants: At least one Designated Responsible Licensed Producer (DRLP) provided must hold at least one active license from ANY Delaware license class. Any line of authority under the license class is acceptable.
If applicant responds "yes" to one of the background questions please submit supporting documents electronically via NIPR's Attachments Warehouse. The documents may also be submitted to the state via mail, email, or fax. All other required documentation must be forwarded directly to the state.
