  • Applicants for the variable line of authority (LOA) must supply a FINRA Central Registry Depository (CRD) number on the application.  If you need to verify your CRD number you may use the Broker Search feature found on FINRA's website.

  • Surplus lines applicants must renew property and casualty line of authority (LOA) simultaneously in the same application in order to be eligible to renew surplus lines.

  • Resident Producer life is required when Resident Producer variable life and variable annuity product is selected.

  • Title applicant, including attorney title and title agency, must complete the Affiliated Business Arrangement Disclosure Form immediately after initial licensure or renewal of a title license. The form can be found on Colorado's state website. Failure to submit the form is cause for license suspension, revocation, and or a fine.

  • If applicant responds "yes" to one of the background questions please submit supporting documents electronically via NIPR's Attachments Warehouse. The documents may also be submitted to the state via mail, email, or fax.

  • Colorado law requires that only persons lawfully present in the United States (US) be issued a license, certificate, registration or permit. When requested, provide the valid identification.

  • Colorado law allows an insurance producer exemption from pre-licensing education and testing if reinstatement of their license occurs within one year of the license termination/expiration date. Beyond that one (1) year period, the individual must apply for a new Colorado resident license, which includes a new prelicensing education course and passing the Colorado exam.

  • Please note: Only one (1) license renewal transaction may be submitted electronically. Colorado allows an applicant to renew some or all lines of authority in that transaction. If applicant elects to not renew some line of authorities (LOAs) in their online license renewal transaction, applicant will not be able to submit an additional electronic renewal application for additional lines at a later time. It will be necessary to contact the state directly to renew the additional lines.
