Applicant Can
- Submit initial license for business entities electronically.
- Submit major lines of authority.
- Submit limited lines of authority.
- Submit surplus lines for business entities.
- Add lines of authority (amend) to an existing active license.
- Reinstate/reapply through NIPR's Resident License (RL) Application.
- Print license electronically.
Business Rules
MET, MEWA, Self Funded Plans, TPA, and MGA license classes will not be offered electronically at this time and will not display on PDB at this time due to all of them receiving a registration and not a license.
All business entity applications, except for the surplus lines agency applications, require an owner or director’s first and last name.
Surplus lines agency applications:
- Please note that at least one Designated Responsible Licensed Producer (DRLP) must hold an active Arkansas Surplus Lines Producer license class on PDB.
- The surplus lines agency DRLP will load to SBS as the affiliation. Please note that this is the only DRLP that will load to SBS as an affiliation. All other additions or removal of affiliations must be completed through SBS or the state.
Applicants applying for the title agency license class must provide a DRLP that holds an active title line of authority (LOA) in the state of Arkansas.
Other than surplus lines agency and the title agency license class, a DRLP is not mandatory on business entity renewal applications. Business entity applicants may enter a DRLP if they choose to, but please note the following validations will apply:
- All DRLPs must cumulatively cover all lines of authority (LOAs) being requested.
- The DRLP must have an active license in the state of Arkansas.
- If a DRLP is entered in for the following business applications, they will not require the above stated validation:
- Surplus Lines Agency
- Car Rental Agency
- Portable Electronics
- Portable Electronics – Limited
- Reinsurance Intermediaries Manager
- Self Service Storage Insurance
- Title Agency
- Life Settlement Broker Business Entity
- Life Settlement Provider Business Entity
Sole proprietorships are not an allowable business type.
Business entity applicants may have a P.O. Box address for the mailing address.
Reapplication is allowed up to one (1) year after license expiration date.
If applicant responds "yes" to one of the background questions please submit supporting documents electronically via NIPR's Attachments Warehouse. The documents may also be submitted to the state via mail, email, or fax.
