Please note that license class names can vary by state.

  • Applications for Other lines of authority will defer to state for approval.
  • If a DRLP is provided, all DRLPs must hold an active resident or non-resident Arkansas license.
  • Applicant must provide at least one DRLP on Business Entity applications for Surplus Lines Agency, Consultant Agency and Exchange Agency.
    • Note: Other than the Surplus Lines Agency, Consultant Agency ,and Exchange Agency DRLP is not mandatory on business entity applications. The Business Entity may enter a DRLP if they choose to.

Rules and Regulations

Applicant Can

  • Submit initial license for business entities electronically.
  • Submit major lines of authority.
  • Submit limited lines of authority.
  • Submit surplus lines for business entities.
  • Submit Non Resident Adjuster Licensing (NRAL) through Non Resident License (NRL) application for business entities.
  • Add lines of authority (amend) to an existing active license.
  • Reinstate/reapply through NIPR's Non-Resident License (NRL) Application.
  • Print license electronically.

Business Rules

  • Applicant must provide at least one Designated Responsible Licensed Producer (DRLP) on business entity application for surplus lines agency.

  • Applicants applying for surplus lines agency must have at least one DRLP licensed for Surplus Lines Producer.

  • Owner/Director must supply both first and last name. Excludes applicants for surplus lines agency.

  • Applicants must provide a valid business e-mail.

  • If a DRLP is provided, all DRLPs must hold an active resident or non-resident Arkansas license.

  • Reapplication allowed if one year after license expiration date. Excludes Life Settlement Producer license class.

  • PO Box is only accepted for mailing addresses.

  • If applicant responds "yes" to one of the background questions please submit supporting documents electronically via NIPR's Attachments Warehouse. The documents may also be submitted to the state via mail, email, or fax.

  • Consultants applicants must have an active Consultant license in resident state. Please contact LicenseMail@arkansas.gov before applying to confirm if resident license is reciprocal.
