Rules and Regulations
Applicant Can
- Submit renewals for Business Entities electronically.
- Submit renewals for major lines of authority.
- Submit renewals for limited lines of authority.
- Submit renewals for surplus lines for Business Entities.
- Late renew through NIPR's Non-Resident Renewal (NRR) Application.
- Submit partial renewals.
- Submit Non Resident Adjuster Renwal(NRAR) through Non Resident Renewal (NRR) application for business entities.
- Print license electronically.
Business Rules
Applicant's Resident License must be on record.
All instances of phone number must be a valid 10 digit phone number.
Applicant's Arizona license must not have the following status reasons:
- Surrendered
- Suspended
- Revoked
- Deceased
- Refuse to Renew
- Military
- Inactive- DIFI Staff
- Inactive- Relocation
Exactly one Designated Responsible Licensed Producer (DRLP) must be provided on application. The DRLP entered must have an active equivalent Arizona license class on PDB (resident or non-resident) for the license class supplied in the transaction. Exception: Not required for the following:
- Car Rental
- Title Agent
- Portable Electronics Vendor
- Self Service Storage Agent
- Life Settlement Broker
Applicant must not have a business address in the state of Arizona.
P.O. Box or PMB (Private Mailbox) cannot be used for business address.
If applicant responds "yes" to one of the background questions please submit supporting documents electronically via NIPR's Attachments Warehouse. The documents may also be submitted to the state via mail, or email.
An Arizona-licensed insurance professional must:
- Report changes of address, name changes, or changes to a business entity's principals (officers, members, directors, designated responsible producer, etc.) within thirty (30) days. ARS § 20¬286(C).
- Report administrative actions within thirty (30) days after the final disposition of the case. ARS § 20¬301(A).
- Report criminal convictions within thirty (30) days after the filing date. ARS § 20¬-301(B).
- Renew the license prior to its expiration. Whether the Department of Insurance, as a courtesy, notifies a licensee of an upcoming license expiration, the licensee is solely responsible for fulfilling all license renewal requirements prior to the license expiration.
- Maintain and apply up-to-date knowledge. Use the Arizona Department of Insurance state website as a resource for Arizona laws, rules, regulatory bulletins, and other important information.
Renewal Periods
All License Classes offered through the Non-Resident Renewal
Renewal Period:Starts: Ninety (90) days prior to expiration.
Renewal Period Ends: License Expiration Date.
Late Renewal Period: Starts the day after license expiration date, up to one (1) year past license expiration date.
