License management
Apply for a license
To apply for a license in Wyoming, visit LicenseHub.
If you can’t apply for the lines for which you have qualified, contact the state to verify that they have received the exams and any necessary pre-licensing education completion information. Also ensure that they have reported this to NIPR with the correct last name, social security number and date of birth.
Renew a license
To renew a license in Wyoming, visit LicenseHub.
If you can’t renew a particular line offered via NIPR, verify that the line is actively held in your resident state. If the line is not held, you cannot request that line via NIPR.

Cancel or surrender a line of authority
To cancel or surrender a line of authority, complete the Voluntary Surrender Request form. Completed forms can be emailed to InsuranceLicensing@WYO.gov

Information updates
Report a legal name change – individual or entity
To report a legal name change for an individual or entity, complete the Name Change Request Individual or Business Entity form. Submit the completed form by email to InsuranceLicensing@WYO.gov with the required documentation.
Update contact information – individual or entity
To update contact information:

Entity: Pursuant to W.S. § 26-9-207(f), you must notify the Department of an address change within 30 days. To update your address, phone number or email, use your state’s licensed provider.
NOTE: Address or name changes are not processed with renewal applications.
Report changes to Affiliations or Designated Responsible Licensed Producers
Changes to affiliations or Designated Responsible Licensed Producers (DRLPs) should be submitted through your state’s licensed provider. Other affiliations are not accepted.
Report changes to Owners, Officers, Partners or Directors
Submit updates to Partners, Officers, Directors and Managers by email to InsuranceLicensing@WYO.gov on company letterhead. The letter should include the name, title, and license number if applicable of the OPOD to be deleted or added.
Understand residency type changes
Here is some information on residency changes in Wyoming:
Moving into Wyoming from another state: Contact the Department of Insurance in the state you’re moving from and request a letter of clearance. When the letter of clearance is granted, your license will be inactivated in that state. Mail a copy of the letter of clearance, the NAIC Uniform Application for Individual Producer License/Registration and a check for the appropriate licensing fees to the Wisconsin DOI. Use the address at the bottom of this page.
Moving from Wyoming to another state: Download and complete a letter of clearance request form and email it to InsuranceLicensing@WYO.gov . When the letter of clearance is issued, your Wyoming license will be inactivated. Letters of clearance will not be issued after your license renewal invoice has been generated unless your continuing education is completed. Contact the DOI in your new resident state to find the appropriate procedures to follow when transferring your license. If you would like to keep working with clients in Wyoming you may apply for a Wyoming non-resident producer license after your new resident license has been approved.
Nonresidents moving from one state to another must report the new resident state and contact information by submitting the Address Change Request Form by email to the Wyoming DOI.
