License management
Apply for a license
To apply for a license in Pennsylvania, visit LicenseHub.
If you can’t apply for the lines for which you have qualified, contact the state to verify that they have received the exams and any necessary pre-licensing education completion information. Also ensure that they have reported this to NIPR with the correct last name, social security number and date of birth.
Renew a license
To renew a license in Pennsylvania, visit LicenseHub.
If you can’t renew a particular line offered via NIPR, verify that the line is actively held in your resident state. If the line is not held, you cannot request that line via NIPR.
Print a license
To print your license, access your state’s license print tool and follow the instructions on the page.
Find current producer licensing information
Visit the Services for Licensees page of the Pennsylvania Insurance Department (PID) website.
Cancel or surrender a line of authority
To cancel or surrender a line of authority:
Resident individual insurance professionals: Submit a Letter of Clearance or Voluntary Surrender Request form.
Non-resident individual insurance professionals or business entities: Let the license expire by disregarding the renewal invoice. If you need to surrender a line of authority early, submit a Letter of Clearance or Voluntary Surrender Request form.

Report a legal name change – individual or entity
To report a legal name change for an individual or entity, visit the LicenseHub. Find more information on the contact update process on our Contact Change Request page.
Update contact information – individual or entity
To update contact information for insurance professionals:
Individual: Visit LicenseHub. For more information on the contact update process, visit our Contact Change Request page.
Entity: Complete the Address Change Form for Business Entitles. Follow the submission instructions included on the form.
Report changes to Affiliations or Designated Responsible Licensed Producers
Use the Add/Remove Designated Licensee form to report changes to affiliations or Designated Responsible Licensed Producers (DRLPs). Follow the submission instructions included on the form.

Report changes to Owners, Officers, Partners or Directors
Pennsylvania does not track owners, officers, partners or directors of a business entity unless the individual is a DRLP.

Applicants moving their licenses to or from Pennsylvania residency must reapply for the appropriate license.
