License management

Apply for a license

To apply for a license in Connecticut, visit LicenseHub.
If you can’t apply for the lines for which you have qualified, contact the state to verify that they have received the exams and any necessary pre-licensing education completion information. Also ensure that they have reported this to NIPR with the correct last name, social security number and date of birth. 

Renew a license

To renew a license in Connecticut, visit LicenseHub.

If you can’t renew a particular line offered via NIPR, verify that the line is actively held in your resident state. If the line is not held, you cannot request that line via NIPR.

Cancel or surrender a line of authority

To delete a line of authority, complete the Line of Authority (LOA) Removal Request form. 

To cancel a license, complete the Voluntary Surrender form.

Submit your completed form to the email address listed below.

Report changes to Affiliations or Designated Responsible Licensed Producers

For changes related to affiliations or Designated Responsible Licensed Producers (DRLPs), visit the LicenseHub.

Report changes to Owners, Officers, Partners or Directors

Connecticut does not track changes to Owners, Officers, Partners or Directors for entities.

Find exam score validity period

Insurance exam scores in Connecticut are valid for 12 Months.
