License management
Apply for a license
To apply for a license in Alaska, visit LicenseHub.
If you can’t apply for the lines for which you have qualified, contact the state to verify that they have received the exams and any necessary pre-licensing education completion information. Also ensure that they have reported this to NIPR with the correct last name, social security number and date of birth.
Renew a license
To renew a license in Alaska, visit LicenseHub.
If you can’t renew a particular line offered via NIPR, verify that the line is actively held in your resident state. If the line is not held, you cannot request that line via NIPR.
Print a license
To print your license, access your state’s license print tool and follow the instructions on the page.
Find current producer licensing information
Visit the Producers/Licensees page of the Alaska Department of Insurance (DOI) website.
Cancel or surrender a line of authority
To surrender a license or delete a line of authority, complete the Request to Cancel License form. Submit completed forms to the email or mailing address at the bottom of this page.

Report a legal name change – individual or entity

Update contact information – individual or entity
To update contact information for insurance professionals, visit the LicenseHub. To find more information on the contact update process, visit our Contact Change Request page.
Report changes to Affiliations or Designated Responsible Licensed Producers
Changes to Designated Responsible Licensed Producers (DRLPs) should be submitted through the LicenseHub.
Report changes to Owners, Officers, Partners or Directors
Alaska only tracks owners, officers, partners, and directors for Third Party Administrators, Pharmacy Benefits Managers, and Managing General Agents. Alaska does not track this information for producer entities. Licensees may provide an updated list by free form letter via email to insurancelicensing@alaska.gov. Alaska will attach the letter to the file and remove outdated information, but new information will not be added.

Find exam score validity period
Insurance exam scores in Alaska are valid for 12 Months.
