Rules and Regulations
Applicant Can
- Submit renewals for individuals electronically.
- Submit renewals for major lines of authority.
- Submit renewals for limited lines of authority.
- Submit renewals for surplus lines for individuals.
- Print Licenses Electronically.
Applicant Cannot
- Late renew through NIPR's Non-Resident Renewal Application.
- Submit partial renewals.
Business Rules
General Requirements
- Applicants with a status reason of Revoked or Suspended are not eligible to apply electronically. Please contact the New Hampshire Insurance Department.
Applicants cannot update their addresses via the renewal application. A separate Contact Change Form must be filed prior to submitting a renewal application.
- Applicants must renew all active lines of authority on the license. Partial renewals are not allowed.
Line of Authority Requirements
- Applicants renewing the Surplus Lines line of authority must also hold or renew the Property and Casualty line(s) of authority.
- Applicants renewing the Variable Life and Variable Annuity line of authority must also hold or renew the Life line of authority.
- All Variable Life and Variable Annuity renewal applicants must provide a FINRA CRD number.
Background Questions & Documentation
- When renewing a license, applicants should only answer "Yes" to a background question if there has been a new incident, charge, or conviction since the last application or renewal.
- If an applicant responds "Yes" to any background question, supporting documentation must be submitted within thirty (30) days of the application date or the application will be declined.
- Supporting documentation should be submitted electronically through NIPR's Attachments Warehouse.
- Required documentation includes:
- A written statement explaining the circumstances.
- A copy of the official document demonstrating the resolution of the charges or final judgment.
- All correspondence must include the applicant's name, SSN / FEIN, NIPR Transaction Number, and National Producer Number (NPN), if available.
