Applicant Can

  • Submit adjuster for individuals electronically.
  • Reinstate a license electronically.
  • Add lines of authority to an existing active license electronically.
  • Print licenses electronically.

Applicant Cannot

  • Submit adjuster for business entities electronically.
  • Submit Adjuster Designated Home State (ADHS) electronically.

Business Rules

  • Affiliation Definitions:
    • Agency Affiliations - Agencies that the individual producer is licensed as an active member of that agency (business entity).
    • Other - Affiliation is a contract of employment (as a contract employee, not necessarily salaried) between producers (individual producer and an agency).
  • Applicant must be eighteen (18) years old or older as determined from the applicant's date of birth.

  • Applicants are not required to list affiliations on the Agency or Business Entity Affiliations section of the application. Information provided on the page will not be updated in the state’s system.

  • A Staff Adjuster is a person who investigates, negotiates, or settles workers' compensation claims, and is Employed by a registered Third-Party Administrator.

  • A Company Adjuster is a person Employed by an authorized insurance company, and Investigates, negotiates, or settles workers' compensation claims.

  • Applicants with an active Producer license with the Property or Casualty Line of Authority or Surplus Lines Broker License cannot obtain an Independent Adjuster, Public Adjuster, Company Adjuster, Staff Adjuster or Associate Adjuster License.

  • Applicant cannot hold an Independent Adjuster, Company Adjuster, Staff Adjuster and Public Adjuster license simultaneously.

  • Applicant may not select Nevada as Adjuster Designated Home State while applying for their Non-Resident Nevada license.

  • Public Adjusters cannot designate a home state.

  • Staff Adjuster license requires sponsorship by Third Party Administrative firm.

  • If applicant responds "yes" to one of the background questions, with the exception of #4, please submit supporting documents electronically via NIPR's Attachments Warehouse.

Two Years

Submit an application along with a Letter of Clearance from your resident state and have fingerprints done

  • A Letter of Clearance may be requested when the resident producer is leaving the state and wishes to be licensed in another state. Letter of Clearance, please submit the Clearance Letter Form DOC 323 by faxing to 775-687-0797.
