Rules and Regulations

Applicant Can

Submit contact change request for any license on NIPR's Producer Database (PDB).
Submit DHS contact change request (no resident state license on PDB).
Tracks counties.
Submit Email Changes.
Submit Phone number Changes.
Submit change to state code of business address for resident license to one of the neighboring states: Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Wisconsin.
Submit state code change of the Mailing address for residents.

Applicant Cannot

Submit P.O. Box for residence addresses.
Submit change to state code of residence address.

Business Rules

Applicant’s Michigan license record may be in any status on PDB.
Individual
- Allow P.O. Box for Business addresses.
- Do not allow P.O. Box for Residence addresses.
Business
- Do not allow P.O. Box for Business addresses.
Both
- Allow P.O. Box for Mailing addresses.
For resident Michigan licensee:
- Do not allow applicant to change the state code of the Residence address.
- Allow applicant to change the state code of the Mailing address.
- Allow applicant to change the state code of the Mailing Business address to one of the neighboring states:
  - Illinois
  - Indiana
  - Ohio
  - Wisconsin
For non-resident Michigan licensee:
- Allow applicant to change the state code of the Residence, Business or Mailing address. (Both).
- Submitted Residence address must match the current Residence address for resident/home state on PDB (if applicable).(Individual).
- Submitted Business address must match the current Business address for resident/home state on PDB (if applicable). (Both).

To document licensure, companies should make a screen print of the producer's license status from the DIFS Insurance License Locator or from NIPR'S Producer Database (PDB).
