Applicant Can

  • Accepts renewals for individuals electronically.
  • Accepts renewals for major lines of authority.

  • Applicant can late renew through NIPR's Resident License Renewal (RLR) Application.
  • License printing available electronically.

Business Rules

  • Applicant must not have any serious RIRS actions or 1033 actions since last renewal or initial application. Contact the state for additional information, if applicable.

  • Applicant must be in continuing education (CE) compliance in order to renew license.  Please allow up to two (2) to three (3) business days from date compliance shows met on your SBS CE transcript to be able to submit renewal.  In order to be in CE compliance, the following license classes/lines of authority must have (36) total credit hours in which (3) of the hours are Ethics to renew:  Life, Accident & Health, Property, Casualty and Personal Lines.   At least (18) of the required (36) credit hours must be from classroom method.  The license class/LOA of Crop, must have (18) total credit hours in which (3) of the hours are Ethics to renew.

  • All Public Adjuster applications are deferred to the state for Proof of Financial Responsibility. See Iowa Administrative Code 191-55.10(82GA, HF499) Evidence of Financial Responsibility.

  • Public Adjuster applicant must be in continuing education (CE) compliance to renew application. Please allow up to two (2) to three (3) business days from date compliance shows met on your SBS CE transcript to be able to submit renewal. In order to be in CE compliance, applicant must have twenty-four (24) total credits hours which two (2) of the hours are Ethics to renew.

  • If applicant responds "yes" to one of the background questions please submit supporting documents electronically via NIPR's Attachments Warehouse. The documents may also be submitted to the state via mail, email, or fax.

All License Classes

Renewal Period: Ninety (90) days prior to expiration date - Expiration date.

Late Renewal Period: Up to one (1) year past expiration date.

  • NIPR verifies compliance with the states CE requirement prior to allowing submission of a renewal application. You may select your resident state on the following link: Verify My CE to view your CE transcript and determine whether the state has updated your status to compliant in their system and on what date.  It generally takes up to 72 hours from the compliance date for the status to be updated in our system.
