Rules and Regulations
Applicant Can
- Submit adjuster for individuals electronically.
- Submit adjuster for business entities electronically.
- Submit Adjuster Designated Home State (ADHS) electronically.
- Late renew through NIPR's Non-Resident Adjuster Renewal Application.
- Print licenses electronically.
Applicant Cannot
- Submit adjuster for business entities electronically. Business entities will renew using Non-Resident Renewals rather than Non-Resident Adjuster Renewals.
- Submit partial renewals.
Business Rules
Applicant cannot apply earlier than Ninety (90) days prior to license expiration date.
Non-Resident Independent Adjuster applicants: Late renewals/reinstatements are allowed through Non-Resident Renewal Application from thirty-one (31) days to one (1) year after expiration date. After one (1) year past expiration, applicant must apply as new through Non-Resident Adjuster License Application. These two (2) conditions only apply to applicants who have a status reason of failure to renew.
No partial renewals are allowed. Applicant must renew all lines actively held in Indiana.
The adjuster designated home state selected must have an active non-resident adjuster license on the producer database.
A non-resident independent adjuster or independent adjuster-designated home state licensee may not renew if the licensee holds an active Indiana non-resident public adjuster license.
In order for an applicant to designate a home state during the renewal application, the applicant must not have an active resident adjuster licenses on the producer database (in any state).
Applicant may not designate a home state if the resident state offers adjuster licensing.

- Note: Licenses renew biennially on the last day of the birth month.

Renewal period
Starts: Ninety (90) days prior to expiration date of license. Ends: Expiration date. Renewal Grace Period: Up to thirty (30) days after expiration date.
Late renewal period
Thirty one (31) days to one (1) year after expiration date.
Independent Adjuster - Designated Home State Indiana
Renewal period
Starts: Ninety (90) days prior to expiration date of license. Ends: Expiration date. Renewal Grace Period: Up to thirty (30) days after expiration date.
